SPECIFIC CONDITIONS – CUSTOM ORDER


Bad Dog Custom & Relic Guitars

These conditions apply exclusively to Custom Order requests and do not affect standard products available in the online store.

1. Nature of the Custom Order product

A Custom Order is an artisanal, custom-made instrument built to order in accordance with the specifications selected by the customer via the pre-order form.

Each Custom Order is built expressly for a specific customer and is therefore neither a standard product nor a stock item, but a unique instrument.

In accordance with Article 103.c of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, products made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized are not subject to the right of withdrawal.

Nevertheless, Bad Dog Custom & Relic Guitars, on a voluntary basis and as an enhancement beyond legal requirements, offers a specific cancellation and compensation policy, detailed in the following sections of these conditions.

2. Order process

The Custom Order process is carried out as follows:

  • The customer completes a pre-order form indicating the desired instrument specifications.

  • After submitting the form, the customer accesses the corresponding Custom Order product.

  • Before making payment, the customer must expressly accept these specific conditions.

  • Payment implies full acceptance of these conditions.

  • The specifications provided by the customer constitute the basis of the project.

3. Materials and wood selection

The woods used in Custom Orders are individually selected, prioritizing:

  • Weight

  • Grain and grain orientation

  • Natural resonance

  • Structural stability

The objective is to achieve optimal instrument balance, resulting in a finished guitar that is resonant and very lightweight.

One-piece bodies

  • One-piece bodies are available exclusively for Custom Orders.

  • They are not offered as standard products in the online store.

  • All one-piece Custom Order bodies are made from a single solid block of wood, with no joints, splices, or visible center seams.

  • Selection of these pieces is manual and limited, subject to availability and quality.

  • Natural variations in grain, color, or appearance are not considered defects, but inherent characteristics of an artisanal instrument.

4. Components and parts used

Custom Orders are built entirely with components:

  • From Bad Dog Custom & Relic Guitars

  • From our own brand

  • Or from trusted regular suppliers selected for quality and reliability

In no case are the following accepted:

  • Parts supplied by the customer

  • Third-party components

  • Used, modified, or previously installed parts

  • “Amateur” or self-made components

The instrument is delivered fully assembled as a coherent set, adjusted and verified from the outset.

5. Assembly, setup, and final control

All Custom Order guitars are delivered:

  • Fully assembled

  • Professionally set up

  • After a final functional and stability control process

Professional assembly and setup are included in the final Custom Order price.

Each instrument is delivered with:

  • Serial number

  • Certificate of Authenticity (COA)

  • Relic hard case

  • Relic finish, when specified in the order

6. Manufacturing and delivery timeframes

The estimated manufacturing and delivery time for a Custom Order is approximately three (3) months.

This timeframe is indicative and not guaranteed, as it may be affected by:

  • Availability of woods and components

  • Artisanal finishing and curing processes

  • Workshop workload

The customer expressly accepts this variability inherent to an artisanal process.

7. Cancellations and refunds

7.1 Cancellation before project start

If the customer requests cancellation before the project has started, the amount paid will be refunded minus €29 as management and cancellation fees.

7.2 Cancellation after project start

If the customer requests cancellation once the project has started, a penalty of 20% of the total Custom Order amount will apply.

The remaining 80% will be refunded to the customer.

The project is considered started when any of the following actions has occurred:

  • Selection and reservation of woods

  • Ordering of materials or components

  • Commencement of workshop work

  • Technical preparation of the instrument

8. Returns and right of withdrawal

As these are personalized products made to order, Custom Orders are not subject to the legal right of withdrawal.

The cancellation conditions described in Section 7 are offered voluntarily by Bad Dog Custom & Relic Guitars and exceed the legal requirements for this type of product.

9. Manufacturing defects

In the event of a manufacturing defect attributable to the workshop:

  • Bad Dog Custom & Relic Guitars will assume the shipping costs for return or repair.

  • The defect will be evaluated by the workshop to determine the most appropriate solution (repair, adjustment, or replacement).

The following are not considered defects:

  • Natural variations in the wood

  • Aging of the nitrocellulose finish

  • Marks and wear inherent to agreed relic finishes

10. Acceptance of the conditions

Placing a Custom Order implies that the customer:

  • Has read and understood these conditions

  • Expressly accepts the specific Custom Order conditions

  • Understands the artisanal, personalized, and non-standardized nature of the product

These conditions apply exclusively to Custom Order requests.

11. Applicable law

These conditions are governed by current Spanish legislation.
